I know what race day feels like from both sides of the camera.

As a runner myself, I've raced across numerous running races as well as triathlon events. That experience gives me an understanding of the moments that matter to athletes, from the anticipation before the start and the effort out on the course to the emotion of finally crossing the finish line.

It also means I understand how quickly those moments happen.

My approach to sports photography is to capture the action naturally while also telling the wider story of the event, including the people, atmosphere and details that make each race different.

Great event photography should show what it actually felt like to be there.

Coverage can include the build-up and start area, competitors out on the course, spectators and supporters, finish-line moments, volunteers and event staff, presentations and podiums, sponsors and branding, and the smaller candid moments happening throughout the day.

The result is a collection of photographs that can document the event while also providing organisers with valuable imagery for websites, social media and the promotion of future events.

Every sporting event is different, so coverage can be tailored around the course, schedule and images you need.

I can work with race organisers, sports clubs, charities, event companies and other organisations looking for professional photography of their event. Individual athlete coverage can also be discussed where appropriate and where event access permits.

For organised events, photography is naturally subject to any permissions, accreditation or access requirements set by the organiser or venue.
