Meet the Photographer: Davidson Photography

Hi, I’m Adam Davidson, the photographer behind Davidson Photography.

I was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, and I still live here today. While Blackburn is home, I’m always happy to travel across the North-West of the UK (and beyond) for photography work.

Outside of photography, I’ve always had creative and technical interests. I’ve played the piano since I was 8 years old, and I love travelling - both around the UK and abroad - exploring new places, landscapes, and cultures. Those interests naturally feed into how I see the world and how I photograph it.

A Love of Technology That Turned Into Photography

My journey into photography started early, and not in the traditional way.

I’ve always loved technology - understanding how things work, learning the science behind getting things “right”, and then pushing beyond that by experimenting. I got my first digital camera at around 10 years old, and from that point on I was hooked. I remember constantly saving up, excited to upgrade as camera technology improved.

Photography began as a hobby, but one I took seriously. I enjoyed learning about exposure, lenses, sensors, and composition - not just taking photos, but understanding why they worked.

In 2020, I invested in my first more expensive mirrorless camera, which is still my main camera today: the Sony a6400. From there, I expanded my lens collection and really began developing my style. Travel photography, landscapes, and street-style shots became a big part of how I learned and improved.

What I Love Photographing (And Why)

Landscapes are a favourite, mainly because they combine photography with my love of travel and the outdoors. Automotive, pets and tourism photography are equally enjoyable, especially when they allow me to capture genuine moments and personality.

That said, wedding photography is where I want Davidson Photography to grow as a business.

I haven’t shot my first wedding yet - and I believe in being honest about that. What I do bring is preparation, realism, care, and a genuine passion for capturing memories that matter.

Photography Shouldn’t Be Out of Reach

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to turn photography into a business is something I find genuinely frustrating.

Too many people miss out on capturing important memories simply because professional photography can be incredibly expensive - especially when it comes to weddings and once-in-a-lifetime events.

I believe that:

  • Having some professional photography is far better than none at all

  • Not everyone wants (or can afford) a four-figure photography package

  • No couple should feel financial pressure or regret over how much their photographer cost

I may not have decades of professional wedding experience, but I’m confident I can deliver fantastic results at a price that feels fair and accessible - and that’s something many couples genuinely value.

My Style: Relaxed, Honest, and Value-Driven

My approach to photography is simple:

  • Relaxed and natural

  • Flexible and easy to work with

  • No pressure

I want clients to feel comfortable, able to ask questions, and confident that nothing is “too much trouble”. Honesty is incredibly important to me - I’ll always be clear about what I can deliver, so expectations are realistic and met.

I don’t see myself competing with photographers offering luxury, high-end packages - and that’s intentional. Davidson Photography is for people who:

  • Want meaningful, well-shot images

  • Appreciate value for money

  • Would rather avoid spending a “silly amount” and regretting it later

Looking Ahead

Davidson Photography is built on the idea that professional photography should be accessible, honest, and genuinely worthwhile.

If you’re looking for a North-West UK photographer who values memories over margins and people over profit, I’d love to hear from you.
